Gate Valves

Double Disc Gate Valve

The Ludlow-Rensselaer revolving disc Gate Valve has been successfully utilized in the water and wastewater applications for many decades. Low maintenance and performance longevity makes it the most desirable metal seated gate valve in the industry. We use a double disc, wedging principle. Like a solid wedge metal seated gate valve, the wedge is angled with two interchangeable or reversible discs that stay aligned with the body seat rings for excellent sealing capacity.

Double Disc Gate Valves continue to be the most rugged commonly used control mechanisms for on/off service. They are used in the general waterworks service; water pollution control; the chemical process industry; iron and steel mills, particularly blast furnace pipelines; in coke oven and by-product plant pipelines.

Resilient Wedge Gate Valve

One of the most prolific designs in the water industry, the Resilient Wedge Gate Valve incorporates a fully rubber-sealed wedge to prevent the embedding and buildup of sand and sediment, which can lead to seal erosion on metal-seated gate valves. The Ludlow-Rennselaer Resilient Wedge Gate Valve is sealed around a ductile iron core, which is better able to handle changes in pressure and surges. This worry-free design allows for a drop-tight seal that will provide consistent and efficient service for years to come.
